I’m James Burke.

I currently live near Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland. In 2007 I graduated from the University of Ulster in Coleraine with a first class honours degree in Computing. I continued my studies at the University of Ulster by pursuing a PhD project investigating the potential benefits which video game design and novel technology can bring to stroke rehabilitation.

I have a keen interest in video and computer games, be it designing, creating, playing or researching them. My projects at university involved designing and programming games and tools, mostly using C# and the Microsoft XNA framework. More in-depth information on these projects can be found here.

For hobbies, I am passionate about music, attend gigs regularly and play guitar (rather badly). I enjoy watching films and am an avid fan of cinema. I also have a love for the weird and wonderful world of technology, from small gadgets to high-tech equipment to the world wide web. I maintain a personal blog, writing about anything I enjoy and feel I should share with others. You can also find an archive of my presentations at my SlideShare account.
