    Song for Stress

When everything gets too much, I find Radiohead’s How To Disappear Completely to be a great reminder that in the greater scale of things, nothing matters.  For all we know none of this is real.

Not that I’m stressed right now or anything :-)  I will get round to posting the Berlin photos, they’re on my Bebo now for those in the know.

    Back from Berlin

As you can see, no photos yet from Berlin.  Turns out we had wireless in the hotel, but it didn’t come cheap, so I thought I would just wait until I got home before posting them.  We left for our flight at 3am this morning, and also just about made it on to our connecting flight thanks to some athletic running.   Right now I need sleep, and plenty of it.

    Berlin Calling…

Tomorrow morning at 5am I’ll be leaving the house heading for a plane to Berlin.  Me and a mate are heading over for a short break, to kick back, take in the culture, and take in plenty of German beer while we’re there.  Apparently our hotel has wireless (though we’re not 100% certain), but if it does I’ll be posting up some photos during the week since we’ll have access to a laptop.  Also, I’ve readied my PSP with a ton of emulators and ROMs, including some of my old favourites for the ZX Spectrum from my days as a young rapscallion.  Oh, and of course the Nintendo DS will be coming along too.  Its been a while since I’ve done any handheld gaming – catch up time on the many flights (three on the way over alone) methinks.

    I better get packing…

Xbox Live Friends on your desktop

I’ve been trying out a few different programs for Windows which integrate with your Xbox Live account and allow you to access your friends list easily without having to go to the trouble of visiting xbox.com everytime. I’ve found the best program to be XBList, “a Windows program written in C# that can display your Xbox Live Friends List in a buddy-list format. It is designed to be simple and unobtrusive. It also has some integration with Xbox.com to display Gamer Tiles and Gamer Cards, and Bungie.net to display Halo 2 information and player emblems”. Make sure to read the setup instructions to find out how to sign in for the first time, but other than that, its a great, handy little program to have when you feel like being nosey or sending a few messages. It work on both XP and Vista. Screenshots below.
